I am Chang Bingwen, President of Wuhan University, China. On the occasion of the official opening of the Benha-Wuhan postgraduate College, which has been jointly established by Wuhan University and Benha University, I am pleased to introduce this college to you and warmly welcome you to continue your studies here.

Wuhan University was founded in 1893 and is one of the most prestigious and distinguished higher education institutions in China, renowned for its global reputation in academic excellence. Wuhan University and Benha University share a long-standing partnership and a solid spirit of collaboration, along with a steadfast commitment to scientific excellence. The joint effort to establish Benha-Wuhan Graduate College (BWCP) represents an important step aimed at preparing highly skilled professionals capable of actively engaging in the global arena.

In its initial phase, the college will focus on key areas including: • Information Engineering in Geospatial and Remote Sensing, • International Business Management, • Nursing. It will offer four master's programs with a dual degree system and two doctoral programs with a dual degree system.

Activities of the "Safe Community Without Addiction" Initiative Continue at Benha University

Under the patronage of Prof.Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, President of Benha University; Prof.Dr. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof.Dr. Mohamed Al-Ashhab, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; and Dr. Nermin Adli, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, the activities of the "Safe Community Without Addiction" initiative were launched at the Faculties of Applied Arts and Computers and Artificial Intelligence to raise student awareness against addiction.The activities were coordinated by Dr. Sherine El-Khouly, Head of the Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology Department at the Faculty of Medicine, and Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant University Secretary for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The initiative aimed to spread awareness about the serious health risks of addiction and encourage the adoption of a healthy, addiction-free lifestyle among students of the university's faculties. This was achieved by increasing awareness of the dangers of addiction and its health, economic, and social impacts; discussing recovery strategies from addiction and the role of community support; highlighting anti-addiction policies and the importance of regulatory laws; and exchanging experiences and providing practical advice for eradicating addiction.

Benha University Organized a Seminar on "Cyber Crimes and Ways to Prevent Them" in Cooperation with the Egyptian House of Family and the Islamic Research Campus

Under the auspices of:
• Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University,
• Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development,
opened a seminar titled "Cyber Crimes and Ways to Prevent Them." This seminar was organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector of the university in collaboration with the Egyptian House of Family and the Islamic Research Center through the initiative "We Start with Humanity," held at the premises of the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Moshtohor.
The event was attended by:
• Prof. Sayed Khater, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture in Moshtohor,
• Prof. Hassan El-Sayed Khalil, Assistant Secretary-General of the Islamic Research campus at Al-Azhar,

• Prof. Mohamed Mohsen, Cybersecurity and Cyber Crime Consultant,

Prof. Taha Ashour emphasized that the seminar focused on raising awareness about the dangers of cyber-crimes and ways to prevent them. It comes as part of the university's community role, contributing to the protocol signed between the university and the Egyptian House of Family by organizing various activities and events aimed at preserving values, promoting peace, and working together for a better future for youth.
Prof. Mohamed Mohsen, during his speech, stated that the rapid technological advancement and the increasing reliance on digital systems necessitate a genuine digital awareness and a high level of vigilance and responsibility. He pointed out that one of the most dangerous aspects of these risks is cyber-crimes supported by artificial intelligence.
At the end of the seminar, a discussion took place with the speakers, and questions from the attendees were addressed.

Under the patronage of Prof.Dr. Nasser Al-Gizawy, President of Benha University, and Prof.Dr. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Benha University students participated in a seminar by the Youth Coordination of Parties and Politicians titled "Participate and Know Your Political Rights," as part of the Cairo International Book Fair activities.
This took place within the framework of an open dialogue with university youth and school student unions, with the participation of Counselor Mahmoud Fawzy, Minister of Parliamentary, Legal, and Political Communication Affairs.
The seminar aimed to enhance political awareness among youth, introduce how the Egyptian Constitution and laws regulate the exercise of political rights, and highlight the role of youth in public work, amidst rapid technological transformations and the advent of the artificial intelligence era.

President of Benha University Participated in Fulbright Workshop on "Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer"

Prof. Nasser Al-Ghizawy, President of Benha University, participated in the activities of a workshop organized by the Fulbright Authority titled: "University Leadership Program Series 2026: From Idea to Ecosystem: Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer." The workshop was attended by Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Hossam Osman, Deputy Minister for Innovation and Scientific Research, Prof. Mostafa Rifaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, Prof. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister and Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector, Prof. Magy Nasif, Executive Director of Fulbright in Egypt, along with a group of university presidents, council secretaries, and ministry leaders.
Prof. Al-Ghizawy indicated that the workshop discussed ways to develop the innovation ecosystem within universities, the role of business incubators and startups in leveraging research outputs, and showcased successful experiences in technology transfer and building effective partnerships between universities and the industrial sector. This aims to enhance the competitive capacity of academic institutions regionally and internationally, aligning with the Egyptian state 's direction and the support of Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within Egyptian universities. It seeks to build an integrated system that connects academic knowledge with labor market needs, thereby supporting the national economy and maximizing the role of universities in serving the community.
Prof. Nasser Al-Ghizawy affirmed that Benha University is keen to support its members in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, enhancing their capabilities to market research outputs and establish startups that align with the requirements of the local and international labor market, contributing to serving the national economy and achieving the goals of Egypt 's Vision 2030. He noted that the university has established a company called "Bidaya" to market its services, aiming to invest in all intellectual and research output within the university and convert it into real products while exchanging experiences in knowledge investment.
The workshop was organized by the Fulbright Authority under the supervision of Prof. Magy Nasif, the executive director of Fulbright in Egypt. The workshop included a keynote lecture delivered by Professor Richard Joseph, who presented the latest global models for linking scientific research with practical applications and mechanisms for transforming research ideas into productive projects, thereby supporting a knowledge-based economy and enhancing the role of universities as a primary driver of development. At the end of the workshop, fruitful discussions took place between university presidents and ministry leaders with the expert regarding the content of the presentation, aiming to benefit from it in supporting efforts to elevate the educational and research system in Egypt.

The event was attended by Prof. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, along with several academic and administrative leaders from the university.
Prof. Nasser Al-Ghizawy stated that professional empowerment is not just a policy or program, but a comprehensive vision aimed at equipping individuals with the skills and opportunities that make them active partners in development and capable leaders of innovation and change. during the conference's first session titled "Empowering Youth for the Future of Work: From Skills to Opportunities," Prof. Rasha Sharaf, Secretary-General of the Education Development Fund at the Prime Minister's Office, spoke on "Future Work Trends in the World," addressing the major global transformations in the labor market and the role of education and professional development in preparing cadres capable of meeting future demands, thus enhancing employment opportunities and empowering youth.
Also speaking was Prof. Tarek Farouk Maarek, Deputy Executive Director of the Industrial Modernization Center, who delivered a speech titled "Sustainability and Resource Management in the Industrial Sector," discussing strategies to enhance optimal resource utilization, achieve industrial sustainability, and the role of innovation and modernization in improving the efficiency of the Egyptian industry and meeting future demands.
Prof. Mohamed Watani, President of the Labor University and Consultant to the Supreme Council of Technological Education, presented a talk titled "Technological Universities in Egypt: A Comprehensive Vision for Qualifying Youth for the Modern Labor Market in the Era of Digital Transformation," highlighting the strategic role of technological universities in building qualified cadres with advanced practical and technical skills capable of competing and supporting sustainable development and digital transformation. The second discussion session featured a lecture on "Integrating Scientific Research, Entrepreneurship, and Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development," presented by Prof. Stephen Lameman, Director of International Cooperation and Agreements at Canterbury Christ Church University, who spoke on "The Impact of Cross-Border Education Programs on Increasing Employment Opportunities," addressing the role of cross-border education programs in enhancing graduates'readiness for the international labor market, building global skills, and linking academic education with employment and professional development needs in a rapidly changing world.

Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced that the University's determined students (people of determination) achieved advanced positions in the Egyptian Universities Table Tennis Championship.
The championship was organized by the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation at the American University in Cairo grounds.
El-Gizawy extended congratulations to the winning students who managed to secure 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal. He encouraged their continued positive participation in championships and competitions, aiming to channel their energies productively and help them acquire diverse life experiences and skills.
El-Gizawy added that Benha University places great importance on people of determination, integrating them into the university community, providing them with full support, and solving any difficulties or problems they may face, considering them partners in the nation's development. He emphasized the university's keenness to support distinguished, talented, and gifted students in all fields, as well as supporting student activities and encouraging students to develop their talents, aiming to prepare generations capable of innovation and creativity in various domains.
For her part, Dr. Jehan Abdel Hadi, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, pointed out that the students who won the gold medals are Student Reham Emad Salama and Student Safaa Hafez Abdel Moneim. The students who won the silver medals are Saad Mohamed Helmy and Mostafa Saber Mohamed. The student who won the bronze medal is Asmaa Gamal Baghdadi.
